Captain Doug's Tidewater Tours, Inc.

Captain Doug has been running Captain Doug's Tidewater Tours, Inc. in Cedar Key for the past 10 years. Formerly a policeman, he retired and headed for his first love, the water. He operates a 34 passenger boat called Princess Anne, which "is Cedar Key's only U.S. Coast Guard inspected vessel authorized to carry over six passengers."

Captain Doug offers "Island tours, Suwannee River Tours, Coastal Backcountry Tours, Birding, Island Drop Offs, Group Charters, Weddings and Spreading of Ashes."

In the second photo you see his wife, Barbara, who keeps the whole operation running smoothly!

If you plan to visit Cedar Key and wish further information, you can email Captain Doug as CaptainDoug@Tidewatertours.com. They also have a website: http://www.Tidewatertours.com.

Cool. I hope they survive the turbulent economy.

@ Barb - Everyone in Cedar Key is on pins and needles, wondering what the future holds and hoping for the best. An inundation of oil could devastate the island!

Please give us updates on the oil situation from time to time.

Those tours all sound wonderful! But I hope the oil doesn't reach there!

Well, if there are boats for less passengers, I'm afraid I'll take one of those. Sorry, Barbara! :-)
