I guess the big bird gets the big rock. That's how it works!

I guess the bigger bird is a gull. Did you ever look at the knees on a gull. I find them humorous. heehee.
I think the smaller birds are Ruddy Turnstone, pretty neat. MB

LOL, great shot :)... it seems you were making a lot of noise, because two of the birds are lookng at you.

What is the name of the smaller, colorful birds? They're so dear and I don't know if I've ever seen them before.

Lovely birdies, Jacob Meister! Did you have your waders on for that snap?

Heart breaker you!

What are those lovely little birds?

I'm looking at you, looking at me, of course!

@ Ciel - I have no clue!

@ Brattcat - See my comment to Ciel. Maybe some other bloggers might know. Check with VP or JM - both of those guys are walking encyclopedias! Or Chris up in Iceland...he's the bird guy.

@ Small City Scenes - "Knees" on a gull? Am I that "gullible"? What "knees"? Oh, I see - those little bumps!

What the heck is a Rudy Turnstone?

Why do I have the feeling you're pulling my leg (or maybe both legs)?

It seems that Don and Krise got it right, big bird takes the big rock! And the third fella from left to right seems really vulnerable there if any small wave would come over...
God bless you!

Wonderful snap. Nice positioning of birds on the rocks as per their size.
