The Cedar Key Fire Department

The Cedar Key Fire Department ... too often our unsung heroes.

The photos will grow if you click on them.

We are going to be out-of-pocket for a few days. I may be unable to post or comment during that time. But we'll be back!

Nice fire station - none of ours have a balcony. The days when firemen slid down the pole are long since gone I suspect.
And yes, firefighters are the unsung heros who give their time and sometimes their lives to keep people safe.

Fire engines are such interesting subjects for the camera! I particularly love the close up in the first shot.

They are truly the city's humble heros! Bravo firefighters!

They actually have a hook and ladder and an aerial truck. When did they upgrade from the water wagon and horses??

Kidding aside, they do an amazing job that goes pretty much unnoticed...until it is YOUR house they are called to. They are real heroes!!

Looks like your volunteer fire crew has pretty nice digs. I tell you what, they deserve it.

I love my firemen. They saved our parakeet that got stuck behind the trash compacter! They keep telling me that was their "oddest" rescue.

Have a great Thanksgiving!

I especially admire volunteer fire and rescue! All of our firemen are volunteers here, too.
