Pier in the back bay

People living along the main road back up to the back bay. Some of them have their own piers to which they can tie up their boats.

So beautiful, Jacob. I love these shots of piers, wildlife, and water. Even as the weather grows more gentle here, your shots make me long for a different life. Is that an apartment house over in the upper right? And it's hard to tell...are the waterfowl in flight or floating on the water?

Hi Brattcat - the building in the upper right is a condo. I believe the unit owners often rent out their apartments to visitors when they're not in town.

Those are gulls floating on the water...the sun was such it reflected strangely and distorted the picture.

Just before I clicked the shutter an eagle was perched on the last post of the pier - but flew off!

It looks like a nice spot. How come the pier is so long, does the water level rise that much?

@ Clueless - I have a feeling when the tide goes out, they're fairly high and dry.
