Biker meeting at the Seafood Festival

I took this photo standing in the middle of the street. A policeman was directing traffic (something you don't often see in Cedar Key!) and he told me to get out of the street. I tried to explain that I was a photographer and as such had certain privileges...but he didn't understand, wouldn't listen, and was insistent. So I got out of the street - AFTER I took the photo. Heh. Heh!

Get high for $20!

At the Seafood Festival, you could fly high for $20 at the Cedar Key airport. I think this couple was mulling it over. She said, "Let's try it," and he said, "Nah, let's go get a beer!"

Perched Pelican hanging on for dear life

The wind caught this pelican a couple of times and he almost lost his balance, flapping his wings until he could stabilize. Meanwhile, another guy with a camera tried to get his picture...

VW Van from the "good old days"

This one's for Frank at Tampa Daily Photo, who drove one of these gems around the world (or something like that) back in the "good old days." You could have seen it for yourself, Frank, if you had come to the Seafood Festival!

The posing Dalmatian

This cute Dalmatian stopped and posed when she saw me about to take her picture. I'm not sure what her role was at the Seafood Festival, but I'd guess the kids liked her a lot!

Christmas in June?

This photo was taken last June...it appears the proprietors were getting a jump on the season.

By the Sea - Handcrafts by Ron and Carol (Cedar Key Seafood Festival)

Carol Wiggins, along with her son, Ron Marks, operates a business called By the Sea, which consists of beautiful handcrafts featuring nautical themes some of which are shown in the above photos. We were delighted to make their acquaintance at the Seafood Festival of last weekend.

They live in Port Richey, Florida, but love Cedar Key and visit the island frequently, and most importantly, they are great fans of this blog.

If you wish more information about these handcrafts, you may contact them via email at: 1228wed@gte.net.

Chartreuse?

This one's for Tapirgal, our Astoria, Oregon daily photo blogger, who loves the beautiful and "artistic" colors we so often find in Cedar Key. Our chartreuse subject of this post is located just across from the City Park.

We are planning to be in Cedar Key tomorrow for the annual Seafood Festival, which includes an arts and craft show, parade, boat rides and more.

Bon weekend to all!
