The Gulf Side Motel

The Gulf Side Motel has been in business for many years. It may not look very fancy, but it's located on the water with a pier for fishing. The owner(s) must be doing something right.

Kayaks for rent - take your pick

Cedar Key City Park

Here you will find a small beach for swimming; a gazebo; benches; places to grill food; nice, clean restrooms; a great playground area for the kiddos; and you can rent kayaks also.

House for sale

Just down the street from the "house for rent" we posted the day before yesterday, is this house for sale. Looks like it might need a little work, but it is on the water. My guess is that it would cost well over $300,000, but I don't know for sure.

It's all about location.

The Island Hopper

The Island Hopper has been around since we've been coming to Cedar Key - 20 years. In fact, this is the boat, which in 1989, we took for a sunset cruise! It is still in business and in this photo is coming back into the dock after a run out to the islands.

Ready for a parade

Located in the downtown area, just a block from the dock, the inhabitants of this house appear ready for a parade, setting their chairs out in order. Or, maybe they just like to sit and people-watch. I'm not sure Cedar Key has parades.

Condo sign

This was the sign next to the door of the condo we rented in Cedar Key. Makes one wonder, heh? Looks like Jim is the "old crab."

Condos for sale

This condo and several others sit about a block back from the water in downtown Cedar Key. Several are for sale and as I recall the asking price was just under $300K. Some have a view of the water but others are blocked by another set of condos.
