The Island Hotel

The Island Hotel, located on Main Street, has been a Cedar Key fixture for many years. It is still here and has become something of an icon.

You're right. This image really conveys a sense of place; it has that specific Florida key feel. Excellent.

Amazing angle in this picture!
I'm always fascinated with these adorable flags that Americans use to show on the façade of buildings.I think it is about proud and love!
Here in Brazil people use to put our Brazilian flag in some places...but it is not so used like that! It's really beautiful because it is a nice way to say "I love my country"!Beautiful indeed!

This hotel has always seemd like it stepped out of a western movie. Love the lobby. Flags are the perfect touch.

I've nominated you and CKDP for an award and hope you'll visit TDP and accept. - Frank

Looks like a place that I would be comfortable staying in. Do they serve good 'ol southern cooking?

Thanks all. This is the oldest commercial establishment in Cedar Key - dating back to the middle of the 19th century.

It's a hotel and fancy restaurant. We did not eat there. We read the menu and saw their prices on the door.

But we have heard the food is excellent and the dining experience overall is superb.
