I would think it is too late to leave. Mercy. I can't imagine water that deep anywhere but if the people on the weather channel have their way, Florida will disappear one of these days and be under the ocean.

@ Abe - Well, you are right about Florida. In fact, at this moment, some places in downtown Miami are underwater at high tide (3-4 inches) because of rising sea levels.

Still their are those who flunked science class you claim climate change is all bunk.

@ MB - Well, I think so. There's at least one other one. The worst thing about hurricanes for an island like this is the storm surge which wipes out everything in its path...a 12' storm surge could be quite devastating...
