The Island Hopper

The Island Hopper has been around since we've been coming to Cedar Key - 20 years. In fact, this is the boat, which in 1989, we took for a sunset cruise! It is still in business and in this photo is coming back into the dock after a run out to the islands.

Hopping between which islands? The boat does look like something really old, but its quality is admirable.

I just love the water there.

There are a number of small islands (uninhabited) off of Cedar Key. When we took our sunset cruise, we stopped at a couple of them...people go out there to sunbathe, picnic, swim, and the other thing people do on uninhabited islands. :-)

That sounds like fun. Do they drop you off in the morning and pick you up later when you've roasted?

@ Ciel - They have several different plans: one is exactly as you suggest...they will drop you off and pick you up later. Other plans are basically a quick visit and then there's the one we took, where we made a quick visit as the sun was setting! Fabulous!

I always try to get what your photos might be from the headline. Today I was thinking grasshopper : )

Sounds like fun for those that do not suffer from motion sickness.
